About JPX trading hours
The Tokyo Stock Exchange (JPX) runs on Asia/Tokyo, currently UTC+9. Its regular session is 09:00–11:30, 12:30–15:30 in Tokyo, 5.5 hours of continuous trading, interrupted by a midday recess (a common feature of Asian exchanges, where the morning and afternoon sessions are treated almost as two separate markets). Because the exchange keeps local time, its hours move when Tokyo changes its clocks for daylight saving, and since not every financial centre shifts on the same date, the gap between JPX and other exchanges wobbles by an hour for a few weeks each spring and autumn.
